Diffuse Identity of Moscow Regions in Mapping in Social Networks

Previous world studies in the field of urban mapping show that the construction of the identity of settlements occurs non-linearly, and with a partial degree of attachment to the real territorial demarcation. The key issue is the methodological issue of measuring and indicators of the discrepancy between the population's real and mental assessments of their living environment. We have mapped the areas of the Moscow region in the social network Vkontakte using the author's method of “grain clustering”. Network maps showed the blurring of the boundaries between the regions of the Moscow region and the attraction of their larger agglomerations and regions of Moscow. The influence of politically active groups at the federal level is shown.
