Dependence of the Wear Rate of Jet-Forming Elements on the Design, Operating Parameters, Strength of the Destroyed Material and the Time of Their Operation

The scope of water jet technologies is multifaceted. These are abrasive water jet cutting technologies; cleaning the surface of metals and non-metals from any contamination; the ability to remove coatings layer by layer, including imparting new adhesive properties to the surface; decorative finishing of a surface of products; technology of complex shaped cutting of metals, plastics, glass and natural stone slabs; water-jet grouting of the base of the roadway. The use of water jet technologies sooner or later leads to the issue of the wear rate of the nozzles of a water jet tool. The task of determining the dependence of the intensity of wear of jet-forming devices required conducting comprehensive studies covering the formation of thin water jets of high pressure, their dynamics, the study of the process of jet destruction of a massif with different structure and strength, and the study of jet-forming elements. As a result of research and improvement of water jet technologies, in particular the influence of the wear factor of the flow path of a water jet tool, the efficiency will increase, and hence the range of equipment application in various industries.
