A Research of OpenStack Virtual Machine Backup Service Quality Indicators

Virtual machine backup is one of the components of the proactive way of protection in case of emergency events in cloud infrastructure. The solutions, including commercial software, have extended implementation of the backup technologies, however, are limited in the opportunities when it comes to defining performance, availability and consistency metrics of the backup system. Furthermore, operation with systems like OpenStack appears to be intransient and heavy for troubleshooting errors. Considering these drawbacks, in this article, a research of quality indicators which may fully define the quality of backup process and output was performed. Also, two and more approaches are proposed to improve the efficiency of agentless backup in cloud infrastructure.
