Synchronization of Two PMSM Drives in Chaotic Mode Using Modified Feedback Controller

This paper describes the synchronization of two PMSM drives. The mathematical model of PMSM in d-q reference frame following affine transformation is followed. This is observed that when motor parameters lie in a certain range, PMSM experiences chaotic manner such as torque ripple and low frequency oscillations. In this paper an adaptive controller to synchronize a slave PMSM drive according to the master one is studied. To design the controller parameters of the systems are not required, the controller itself estimates the required parameters and develops the control law. A special investigation is carried out even when master drive experiences chaotic behaviors. The controller is useful for adaptive synchronization of a chaotic PMSM under model parameter and load torque variations. The simulation results in MATLAB environment demonstrate the effectiveness of the appraisals of this analysis.
