Research on Voltage Sag Treatment Equipment Based on Fast Vacuum Circuit Breaker

In terms of power supply quality, the treatment of voltage sag has always been a thorny issue. The depth and duration of voltage sag are the two most important characteristics, with the latter being the most important factor affecting power supply quality. In this paper, a voltage sag treatment equipment (VSTE) based on fast vacuum circuit breaker (FVCB) is proposed, which can greatly shorten the voltage sag time. It consists of a fast fault detection device, a normal vacuum circuit breaker, a FVCB, and a shunt reactor. The equipment is mainly used in the cascade Busbar or feeder of the distribution network, and when a voltage sag fault occurs, it can achieve the upper Busbar voltage at the equipment installation to quickly maintain at 0.8~0.9 times of the rated value at the first half-wave. The working principle of the VSTE is mainly explained through simulation research in this study, and the significant effect of voltage sag treatment is verified through testing.
