Simulation Study on Ventilation and Heat Dissipation of 12kV Ring Main Unit

Condensation in high voltage switch cabinet will lead to serious internal insulation failure. In this paper, the switch cabinet condensation prevention technology is summarized and based on the 12kV ring main unit, the temperature and air flow distribution in the switch cabinet are simulated. The results show that the hottest place in the cabinet is the busbar in contact box, the temperature of the cabinet is higher when the contact box is closed and the highest temperature is at the busbar of the contact box. Sealing the contact box and installing heater in the cabinet can effectively raise the temperature of the cable chamber in the cabinet, and inhibit the formation of condensation. This study has reference value and guiding significance for the prevention and control of condensation in switch cabinet.
