A Method of Distribution Network Protection and Application with Penetration of Renewable Generation

Distribution network with embedded with renewable generation will cause the original relay protection failure. This paper mainly analyzes the impact of penetration of renewable generation on the distribution network, including the safety of power grid operation, line power flow, relay protection, scheduling and management. This paper proposes a protection control method for a distribution network with renewable generation, which can accurately determine the fault location, quickly remove the fault, solve problems such as communication interruption and switch refusal, and ensure the stable operation of the system.
