Systematic Design Process of the MBSE Method to Support IMA Configuration Data Generation

The DO-297 suggests the incremental acceptance of IMA system. Task 1 acceptance provides an open and scalable IMA platform with necessary enabling products in IMA ecosystem, while Task 2 and Task 3 acceptance finalizes a configured IMA architecture. The IMA configuration data generated during Task 3 allocates IMA shared resources to all the member systems. It is a collaborative and iterative process to consolidate all the member system resource requests and ensure interoperability among different IMA modules. The MBSE techniques could resolve this difficulty, by reducing the collaboration cost, accelerating the iteration, automating the low-level work and simplifying the certification strategy.So, IMA ecosystem in Task 1 needs to include a systematic design process in order to propose a reliable MBSE method for IMA users to support configuration data generation. Indeed, system model abstraction, toolset and user guidance should be worked out in the MBSE method originating from the open IMA platform design. System/software acceptance evidences should be provided to justify that once the proposed MBSE method is correctly used, the generated IMA configuration data could always satisfy all the member system resource requests and be compatible with the IMA platform hardware and software.
