Introduction of statistics in the analysis of an RFID link in a high density context

Randomly distributed RFID tags are modelled by a set of loaded half-wave dipoles. The RFID communication link is divided into forward and backward links with their own characteristics. The coupling effects related to the random position of dipoles alter the ideal operation of both links compared to the case where the driven dipole is isolated. Numerical Electromagnetic Code (NEC) simulator is used for the assessment of forward and backward links and a few statistical results are presented.
