Calibration Algorithm for IOP Measurement Systems with a Contact Tonometry

The article discusses the main types of ophthalmotonometry, their pros and cons. A brief history of the development of ophthalmotonometry is given. The main measuring instruments used in ophthalmotonometry are shown. The article also indicates the main sources of errors and fluctuations in the values of intraocular pressure (IOP) when measuring IOP by various methods. An analysis of the uncertainty of reproduction of the intraocular pressure unit for contact and non-contact ophthalmotonometry is given. The article shows, that the main errors in measuring IOP and fluctuations in the values of the measured IOP are determined not only by the instrumental error of the measuring device used, but also by the peculiarities of the measurement methodology, and there is also a dependence of the value of the measured IOP on the parameters of the patient’s eye, his age and general condition of the body. The article is an introduction to the study of the dependence of the measured IOP values on the values of the parameters of the patient’s eye and the values of the parameters of other body systems.
