High Performance Power Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing of Traction Inverters at High Voltage Levels

An innovative approach, which can accelerate the development and testing process of traction inverters and their control systems at different operating conditions, is power hardware-in-the-loop emulation of batteries and electrical machines instead of using a common dyno test bench. This paper presents a high-performant power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) setup consisting of extendible power electronic modules and a sophisticated control unit.
