Choosing MIRT Model for Analysis of Quality of Pedagogical and Psychological Tests

We compare compensatory and noncompensatory MIRT (Multidimensional Item Response Theory) models in application to analysis of mathematical and psychological tests. The base model we consider is the multidimensional 2-PL model, and the analyzed data are results of probability theory exams conducted at National Technical University of Ukraine. All computations are performed using R statistical software. The dimensionality of the model is determined using Empirical Kaiser Criterion. The comparison of compensatory and noncompensatory models is conducted using special information criteria.
