Harmonic Analysis of A Grid-Connected Solar Power Plant in Batman Province and Investigation of Power Quality

Fossil fuels, which are non-renewable energy sources cannot meet the rapidly increasing consumption needs of human beings because they are not in a sustainable structure and are only found at certain points in the world. The reduction in the reserves of fossil fuels, the limitations in energy production with traditional methods and the damages caused by fossil fuels to the environment are making a rapid trend towards renewable energy and increasing the importance of economical, environmentally friendly energy sources that can be found in nature, day by day. Solar energy is among the sustainable and renewable energy sources that have become an important and inevitable part of our lives today. Sustainability, which is the most important feature of this environmentally friendly energy source, which helps to reduce fossil fuel consumption and has no limits, provides a great advantage in meeting many different needs. Connecting the systems of renewable energy sources to the distribution network is important in terms of security, power quality and management. One of the most important problems in connecting grid-connected solar power plants to the grid is the harmonics arising from the system. The resulting harmonics have adverse effects on the power quality of the grid. In this study, a grid-connected solar power plant in Batman province; The harmonic effects created by a power quality device integrated into the network, its effect on the distribution network and power quality are investigated.
