Development of an Electric Solar Array Superblock in Open Source Software SCILAB/Xcos

The article presents an electric superblock of a solar array implemented in the Xcos extension of the Scilab computing system. The article shows ways of elimination of errors that have arisen during adaptation of the well-known block model of the solar array implemented in the system MATLAB/Simulink/SimPowerSystems for operation in the system Scilab/Xcos. It was found, that the deviation of short circuit, maximum power and idle points on the I-V and P-V curves characteristics obtained with the Xcos model and SimPowerSystems model was less than 1%. When a direct current (DC) motor is connected to a solar array the results of dynamic Mode simulation are presented. A program that has been proposed in this article builds better quality graphics in the Scilab system than in the Xcos system. In addition, this program prepares data for the construction of the charts in Excel and determines the point of maximum power of solar array.
