ERCOT TSAT Model Review Platform and Performance Comparison with PSS/e Model

This paper presents a TSAT model review platform developed in ERCOT to evaluate the performance of TSAT models associated with power system dynamic devices, especially inverter-based resources (IBRs). Currently, the platform includes all the ERCOT model quality tests such as small and large voltage disturbance tests and system strength tests (short-circuit ratio tests). With a previously developed PSS/e model review platform (DMView), the TSAT and PSS/e model performance can be compared to identify the validity of the developed TSAT models, especially TSAT user-defined models (UDMs). As ERCOT is implementing real-time TSAT to assess dynamic stability in the real-time operation, it is very important to validate the TSAT models prior to the TSAT implementation.
