Internet Banking Accessibility: The Social and Financial Exclusion of People with Visual Disability

Over 2.2 billion people worldwide suffer from near or distance vision impairment, with 90% living in underdeveloped nations especially Egypt with its high population. Internet banking websites are inaccessible, and staff members lack the necessary knowledge to assist visually impaired consumers. As such, this research examines the difficulties faced by people with visual disabilities, as well as the factors that hinder them from opening bank accounts autonomously, risking their privacy. Additionally, the study analyses the primary variables affecting internet banking accessibility. A survey strategy is employed, in which questionnaires are distributed to individuals with visual disabilities. The data is analyzed statistically using structured equation modelling. Statistical analysis, as well as the reviewed literature, are used to derive conclusions and recommendations for bank executives and government representatives.
