STR-DNA Matching and Family Relation Using Bayesian Inference

The research proposed Bayesian inference with a likelihood ratio approach to identifying an individual if the family had no parents. The research is by identifying Short Tandem Repeat (STR-DNA) from living families like siblings, grandparents, uncles, nephews, and cousins. The results of measurement similarity DNA profile for cousins cannot be used because the value of similarity does not reach 50%, while for siblings, grandparents, uncle-aunt, and nephew can reach above 50%. Precision value with Bayesian gains 100% for siblings, grandparents, uncles, and nephews.
