A Novel Approach to Implementing the Application of Business Intelligence in Backwater Tourism Sector in Kerala

The backwaters of Kerala have a long and colourful history. Beautiful rural holiday spots have sprung up along the canals and rivers that wind their way through the area. The backwaters of Kerala were formerly the state's commercial highways. In the backwaters, houseboat travelling is a big part of the experience. Backwater tourism has been recognised by the state as a viable option in today's society. Mass tourism in this region had a profound effect on the local economy, culture, and ecology. Sustainable and ethical tourist practises are essential for eco-tourism products such as backwater tourism. High-quality facilities and services are essential to keep the houseboat industry as a distinctive tourist attraction. Here, we examine how Kerala's backwater tourist industry is using business analytics to counteract the negative effects of tourism online. With the use of BI, it is possible to remedy the information gap in backwater tourism and tourist promotion.
