Reflective and/or Absorbing Ultrathin Multifunctional Materials From Black Silicon Nanowires, Iron Oxide and Nickel Nanoparticles

This work continues and develops an approach to predicting (calculating) and modeling the properties of new absorbing (reflecting) materials on flexible sheets. We consider a multifunctional material on a flexible sheet with partially ordered arrays of nanowires and spherical nanoparticles. To calculate the effective properties of a multifunctional material on a flexible sheet with partially ordered arrays of silicon nanowires and spherical metallic nickel and/or iron oxide nanoparticles, the “effective medium theory” approach was used. The effective complex permittivity, refractive and absorption indices, reflectance, as well as the effect of saturation with nanoparticles on the effective absorbing and reflecting properties of the multifunctional material were calculated and investigated.
