A Microwave CSRR Sensor for Non-Invasive Glucose-Level Detection

In this letter, a microwave complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) sensor in the centimeter band for non-invasive glucose-level detection is introduced. The presented microwave sensor comprises four cells of triangle-shaped CSRRs, which is designed and fabricated on Rogers 6010LM dielectric substrate. The CSRR sensing cells are excited by electric field which is developed by the coupling from the microstrip line engraved on the bottom side of the dielectric substrate. A round plastic-made container is properly placed on the sensor area to hold the blood serum samples for measurements. Finally, the microwave sensor exhibits an excellent sensitivity for non-invasive glucose-level detection by the lab's survey applying a suitable VNA setup.
