Analysis of Field Coupling on Cables for Pulse Current Injection Test

Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection has attracted more and more attention in the field of ships and some EMP equipments have been developed. Pulse current injection (PCI) test can well verify the EMP effect of equipment by injecting high current into the equipment cable and monitoring the residual current. We conducted PCI tests for two types of UPS equipments and found that the crosstalk between the cables was severe. Therefore, we conducted electromagnetic simulations for these two types of equipments to find the optimal layout of the cables to reduce the impact of crosstalk.
