Design of a Novel Dual-band Printed Dipole Antenna

A novel dual-band printed dipole antenna operating at 433 MHz and 2390 MHz is proposed and investigated. The antenna is composed of a two-element double-sided printed dipole array which works at high frequency and one arm of the low-frequency dipole. By loading a capacitor, high-frequency arms printed on one side are shared as the low-frequency dipole's another arm. Additionally, the length of the dipole for the lower band is further shortened by loading inductors. The proposed antenna offers a compact antenna configuration, details of the configuration and experimental results are discussed.
