A High Shielding Effectiveness Waveguide Window Designed for Modern Combat Vehicle

There are more electronic and electrical devices in modern combat vehicles than ever. Such vehicles are required to have complete protection when faced with electromagnetic pulses on the battlefield, which is aim to reduce the impact of external electromagnetic interference on the electrical equipment inside the vehicles. However, under operating conditions, the temperature of integrated supply systems and high-voltage electric drive systems will increase significantly. In order to ensure that the system function is not affected, good ventilation and heat dissipation performance is required. In this paper, a novel electromagnetic shielding structure for the vehicle window is proposed, the structure is cascaded by connecting a rectangular waveguide filter to a waveguide array, which can achieve a high-efficiency electromagnetic shielding performance of 40dB in the range of 100MHz-2GHz, and have a good heat dissipation performance in the meanwhile.
