Application of Wavelet Analysis for Synchronization of Current Signals in the Diagnosis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

Diagnostics of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) is one of the key factors in ensuring the smooth operation of electric drives for various purposes. Various malfunctions of synchronous drives, such as a violation of the original geometric shape, a decrease in the coercive force of the magnets, various destruction of the magnets, such as cracks and chips, can be detected by analyzing the linear current, namely the spectral characteristic. Methods for identifying "mark" on the spectral characteristics and their comparison are referred to as signature analysis. Due to the need to detect the slightest deviations from the original signature, an accurate comparison of the original signal with its standard is necessary. This approach is implemented only under the condition of unambiguous coincidence of the studied signals in terms of their periods and groups of magnets as signal sources. Wavelet transform can be applied as a method of synchronization of two signals.
