Analysis and modelling of normative WPT3 system based on standard SAE J2954

wireless power transfer technology is developing rapidly in recent years, making it very attractive to the electric vehicle (EV) charging applications, which could be suitable for the autonomous drive system. The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Recommended Practice (RP) J2954 has been published to standardize the wireless power transfer for EVs. This paper focuses on the analysis and modelling of the rectifier stage provided in J2954 for WPT3 power level. The equivalent impedance of the rectifier is derived based on first harmonic approximation. A prototype is built and tested to validate this proposal.
