Self-organized wireless power transfer network for group electronics devices application

With rapid growth of consumer electronics, wireless charging is getting more and more acceptance for applications. However, the wireless charging applications at present are mostly designed for individual point-to-point charging, while a wireless charging system that is able to simultaneously charge multiple devices in a large area is always desired. This paper presents Wireless Power Transfer Networks (WPTNs) solutions to develop a flexible, effective wireless power connection between a group of devices. The mathematical model of the relationship between modal component parameters and energy efficiency of WPTNs system is constructed. The prototype network system presently is with four nodes with different modes for delivering rated 10W power at a maximum efficiency of 62.4%. A preliminary demonstration of a WPTNs system with LED lighting in different numbers that indicates both the power transfer routes and capability is exhibited.
