Wireless Charging Capability Extension Using Power Relay Module

This paper explores the potential of a power relay module to extend wireless charging capability. The relay module would utilize the several relay coils to address the mismatch between transmitter and receiver. Inside a module, a three-layer configuration is used, and a relay coil from the bottom layer (facing the transmitter) is strongly coupled to the transmitter coil to efficiently extract the power. The other customized relay coils (from the top layer facing the receiver) would further deliver the power from first relay coil to the receiver in a matched manner. Using the proposed method, a bowl-shape charger is developed to offer fast charging for single device and slow charging for multiple devices simultaneously.
