Digital Twin Modeling and Simulation of the High-frequency Transformer Based on Electromagnetic-thermal Coupling Analysis

This paper proposes a digital twin model of power electronic high-frequency transformers (HFT) based on electromagnetic-thermal analysis. This model aims to replicate the loss density distribution and thermal performance of the HFT, as well as to estimate the thermal stress withstood by the insulation. The digital replica of a 10 kHz HFT is established, which includes the magnetic field model and thermal-airflow field model. The magnetic-thermal one-way coupling analysis and the thermal-airflow coupling analysis methods are employed to simulate the multiphysics of the HFT. The model verification study is conducted, and the simulation results are discussed. The outcome of this paper severs a key step for condition monitoring, fault diagnostics, multi-factor optimization design, and lifetime prediction of the HFT.
