Semantic Mining and Sentiment Analysis of MOOCs Reviews with Data Mining Techniques

Reviews of the mooc platform are feedback from reviewers on their experience of using it, and these reviews are important to other learners as well as administrators of the mooc platform. This paper uses word frequency analysis and co-occurrence analysis to examine the concerns of Chinese university users about the mooc platform, and LDA thematic analysis and sentiment analysis to explore several key themes and sentiment situations in user reviews. The study found that users are generally satisfied with the mooc platform, but there are still some problems, such as unreasonable class or quiz times, lagging videos and no reminders of class times. This paper makes three recommendations based on the current problems and aims to provide strategies for the development of mooc.
