A Case Study of Big Data Technology on Chinese Phonology

Chinese, as a language, has developed for thousands of years. Not only the shape and meaning of the characters have changed, but also the pronunciation has changed a lot. In order to deeply reveal the evolution law of Chinese language and pronunciation, and to realize the innovation and breakthrough of Chinese phonology research methods, we use big data technology to compare and analyze the materials of ancient Chinese pronunciation “Pingshui Rhyme” with that of modern Chinese pronunciation “Chinese New Rhyme”. The results of experiments are basically consistent with the results of traditional research methods. And the big data technology is efficient and accurate, which is conducive to discovering deep rules in the study of Chinese language and phonetics.
