A Novel Differential Chaos Shift Keying System with Hybrid Time-Carrier Index Modulation

In this paper, a hybrid-time-carrier index modulation aided differential chaos shift keying system, namely HTCIM DCSK system, is designed to achieve high-data-rate transmissions. In the proposed system, the reference and information-bearing signals are transmitted simultaneously by exploiting orthogonal sinusoidal carriers. Additionally, the information-bearing signals comprises the modulated bits and two types of index bits (i.e., time-index bits and carrier-index bits). Furthermore, with an aim to further enhance the bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed HTCIM-DCSK system, a noise-reduction method is employed. We compare the data rates, spectrum efficiencies, energy efficiencies and BER performance among the proposed system, the conventional DCSK system, and the MC-DCSK system. The results illustrate the superiority of the proposed HTCIM-DCSK system.
