Description of Information Security Events of Production and Technological Systems Using Fuzzy Graphs

The issues of using fuzzy graphs to formally describe unreliable (uncertain, fuzzy) information security events for protecting production and technological systems are considered. This approach makes it possible to specify the observed features of information security events, taking into account the graphical interpretation and visualization of the level of uncertainty (fuzziness) of the observation data. This, in turn, allows one to increase the visibility and reliability of initial data to make decisions on the unambiguous identification of such events, and to select or develop adequate measures for the effective protection. The concepts of a fuzzy relation and a fuzzy graph, their role and relationship in the reliable and adequate specification of information security events are defined. Besides, the fuzziness of the conditions for measuring (observing) the signs of such events is considered. The features of applying the results of operations on fuzzy relations for constructing fuzzy graphs in order to eliminate uncertainty (fuzziness) in the specification of information security events are discussed.
