Terahertz hologram for homogenous illumination

Terahertz devices are constantly being developed, both taking into account generation and detection of terahertz radiation. It enables creating more and more complex optical systems, which further forces development of passive optical elements. Here, terahertz hologram forming uniform illumination at a particular plane are proposed. The structures form the radiation to illuminate the square area of the examined sample. Few different approaches utilizing hologram as thin and lightweight option for such elements. Structures have been designed using iterative approach, their performance was numerically simulated, then they were manufactured using 3D printing technique and finally experimentally verified.
