Crystal Quality Evaluation of N-(4-methoxybenzylidene) aniline by Terahertz Laser Spectroscopy

Terahertz (THz) laser spectroscopy with high frequency resolution was applied for crystal quality evaluation. N-(4-methoxybenzylidene) aniline crystals with different quality was prepared by recrystallization with melting method with different crystal growth parameter such as cooling rate. The validity of the crystal quality evaluation by THz spectroscopy was confirmed by comparing peak intensity, peak frequency and FWHM of the THz spectra and XRD patterns for the same sample.
