Music learning support system using blocks

Focusing on the purpose of learning music beginners in an interaction system on the subject of music, this paper constructs a new system that can be handled by children and people with visual impairments and use physical devices that stimulate not only visual information but also hearing and touch. Specifically, this study proposes a "block" type music learning support system that satisfies conditions such as "it is easy to handle even for children", "it can be made by actually moving the hand", and "information can be obtained by touching not only visual information". Since the purpose is to develop a system that can be easily handled by children, it aims to design a device that can be touched physically and that the function of the block is easy to understand. In addition, the notes are expressed in an uneven shape so that they can be operated even if they are visually impaired, and the notation used in Braille music is added to the block. This time, it uses blocks with a three-dimensional effect that musical notes, treble clef, and bass clef. Users can check the sound of the note block by itself, and they can also play the melody by connecting the blocks. This paper describes the examination of devices and systems for music learning support, and the research and consideration of the proposed system.
