Study on temperature field of graphite machine considering temperature rise of linear motor

The influence of linear motor temperature rise on the precision of graphite machine spindle end is studied by experiment and simulation based on a certain type of graphite machine. Firstly, the surface temperature of linear motor is taken as the thermal boundary condition, and air medium is used for convection heat transmission. For observing the thermal deformation of the spindle end, the thermal simulation analyses of graphite machine are carried out by using ANSYS Workbench finite element software. Then the surface temperature of the linear motors is measured by using thermocouple, and the positioning accuracy of the graphite machine spindle end is measured by using laser interferometer. Finally, the thermal deformation of the spindle end is compared with the measurement results of the positioning accuracy error of spindle end. The analysis results show that the temperature rise of the linear motor has little influence on the accuracy of the spindle end. The research in this paper is helpful for the future research about the influence of linear motor temperature rise on the thermal deformation of a machine tool.
