128/spl times/128 fully broadcasting, managed and rack-mounted optical cross-connect

A fully broadcasting 128/spl times/128 cross-connect with an all-optical switching fabric has been designed and a managed, rack-mounted prototype based on commercially available technologies has been developed for testing. System architecture and experimental results are reported, and 512/spl times/512 feasibility is demonstrated.
