An Unconditionally Stable Conformal LOD-FDTD Method for HIRF Simulations

The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is widely used in time-domain simulations. However, the conventional FDTD method suffers from the Courant-Friedrich-Levy (CFL) condition, and the staircase errors when curved surfaces are modeled. To address these two issues, a conformal locally-one-dimensional FDTD (CLOD-FDTD) method is proposed, in which the unconditionally stability is preserved and the accuracy can be improved by the conformal technique. In addition, a perfectly electrical conducting (PEC) missile with high intensity radiated field (HIRF) is simulated to verify the accuracy of the proposed method.
