2-Port GSG Probe Calibration Using TRL and 16-Term Error Model Up to 100GHz

This paper introduces two calibration methods— Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) and 16-term error model—and explores the influence of crosstalk errors of different intensities on the calibration accuracy of the two methods through full-wave simulation. The 2-port network is calibrated up to 100GHz by TRL and 16-term error model respectively through the GSG probe and calibration standards. When there is strong crosstalk between the two ports, the calibration accuracy of TRL will be deteriorated, while using the 16-term error model for calibration can effectively improve the calibration accuracy when there is a strong crosstalk error. When the crosstalk intensity is small, the accuracy of the 16-term error model is also slightly higher than that of TRL.
