Additive Manufactured Antennas on Automotive ABS Using Intense Pulsed Light Sintering

Antennas for automotive communications are developed using additive manufacturing techniques on temperature sensitive Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) substrate. Different Intense Pulsed Light profiles are used on the devices in order to optimize the sintering process without destroying the substrate. The conductivity of part of the antenna reaches 3.3% of bulk silver. The maximum realized gain of the antenna at 857.5 MHz is 0.81 dBi and at 5.9 GHz is 7 dBi.
