D-Track: Towards Accurate Tracking Using a Single Access Point

This work proposes an indoor tracking model that establishes the correlation between the target motion and the direct path’s channel parameters, including the angle of arrival (AoA) and angle of departure (AoD). Based on this correlation, we can formulate the tracking problem as the state transition with the observations. Due to the nonlinear observation equation, D-Track resorts to particle filters to solve the problem accurately. D-Track solves the problem of discontinuous tracking due to the lack of available reflection paths when using multipath geometry for indoor tracking. Finally, we validate the proposed system using Wireless Insite software. Experimental results show that D-Track’s performance is comparable to previous state-of-the-art systems.
