Resonance Behaviors of Time-Varying Spherical Scatterers

Quasi-analytic methods are used to examine the coupling of incident fields, up-converted harmonics, and internal resonances in systems composed of time-varying resistive shells. Results demonstrate that, in certain regimes, single mode resonant coupling leads to predictable behavior based on the internal resonances of perfectly conducting spheres and up-converted harmonic frequencies. This predictability degrades as losses are increased and modal bandwidths overlap.
