Model Order Reduction Based Sensitivity Analysis of Coronagraph Pupil Aperture

In this paper, the coronagraph pupil–mask system is modeled and simulated with the method of moments (MoM) to obtain the mutually orthogonal pupil modes. A model-order-reduction-based sensitivity analysis is performed to investigate the coupling between different pupil modes induced by factors like phase abberations, which can be utilized to optimize the shape of deformable mirrors to obtain a sharp image of exoplanets. A numerical example concerning the next generation space telescope coronagraph is given to validate and demonstrate the capability of the proposed method.
