Remote Patients Monitoring and Pretreatment in 5G-Based Mobile Hospital Systems

Cellular networks have been used to transmit data in mobile hospital systems over the years. As technology evolves, advanced techniques have been required to transmit medical data with higher reliability and speed and lower delay. This paper thus proposes a fifth-generation communication system (5G)-based approach for highly reliable medical data transmission with very high capacity and very low latency in a mobile hospital system. The approach includes a 5G network with a slice used to transmit the medical data. Based on the designed system, an optimization technique is proposed to maximize the effective capacity of the transmitted data while satisfying the transmission reliability and latency constraints. Simulation results show the potential of the proposed approach to transmit medical data with very high effective capacity and high energy efficiency.
