Single-Channel Monopulse Tracking Receiver with Time Modulation

A novel single-channel monopulse tracking receiver is proposed and verified with time modulation. The output signals of the monopulse tracking antenna are selected to the single RF chain by a single-pole three-throw (SP3T) switch periodically, including the sum signal, the elevation difference signal and the azimuth difference signal. Then in digital domain, three signals are separated from generated harmonic components, though they have the same carrier frequency. Compared to existing single-channel monopulse receivers, the proposed receiver has a simpler structure and more concise signal processing. Numeric simulations are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed idea.
