A Wideband Slotted Monoconical Antenna with a Broad-beam Radiation Pattern

We propose a wideband monoconical antenna with broad-beam radiation pattern for airborne application. The proposed slotted structure in a monoconical radiator forms a rotating current distribution. The proposed antenna forms E
θ
- and E
ϕ
-components from the rotating current flow that can achieve circular polarization characteristic. In the proposed design, the null-filled pattern over 1:12 impedance-matched frequencies, while the size of the reference monoconical antenna is maintained.
