Influence of Terminal Dimensions on Bandwidth and Efficiency Bounds of Small Printed IFA Antennas

This paper presents a study of the influence of the terminal dimensions on the bandwidth and efficiency bounds of small antennas suitable for IoT or 5G applications. The antenna considered in this study is a printed Inverted-F Antenna (IFA). The obtained results clearly show that the dimensions of the terminal have a strong impact on the maximum total efficiency that can be achieved, whereas the bandwidth bound is less impacted.
