IoT based AGV System for Medicare

With the improvements in Robotic technology, medical settings are embracing more parts of automation to enhance the services in hospitals. Robotic systems in health care have sparked attention because of their potential usage during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the high prevalence of COVID-19 transmission, healthcare personnel is exposed to increased dangers, pressure, and workload to satisfy the needs of patients for drug delivery, temperature checks, oxygen level checks, and food distribution. To avoid this, an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) based Medicare system was developed to prevent health care employees from coming into touch with patients. An automated guided vehicle or AGV system act like a bot that follows the marked long lines from one position to the desired position. The bot follows the track from the nurse’s station to the patient. The proposed system is equipped with a Pulse-oximeter and a contactless temperature sensor. The Pulse-oximeter records the patient’s oxygen level and pulse rate, while the contactless temperature sensor records the patient’s temperature. These bits of information are communicated to the doctor through the mail using IOT technology, and the data is then posted to a webpage where it may be retrieved for future use. The AGV system is equipped with a tab that allows for video chatting with the doctor. For the convenience of patients, this tab spins 360 degrees. This allows doctors and nurses to stay away from COVID-affected patients. With the use of the tray coupled to the system, this bot will also help in transporting prescribed medications and meals from the nursing station to the beds. This system in the future can be implemented in all the hospitals so that the safety of frontline employees is ensured.
