Validating Landsat and Sentinel-2 Analysis Ready Data with Uav-Mounted Spectrometers

Digital Earth Australia (DEA) provide Analysis Ready Data products that have been validated using human-portable spectrometers (HPS) over homogeneous and flat field sites. In order to access a greater range of surface types, DEA are developing packages and protocols to utilise Unoccupied Aerial Vehicle mounted spectrometers (UMS) to replicate the current validation program. Data were gathered con-currently with a VIS/NIR UMS, full range HPS, Landsat-8, Landsat -9 and Sentinel- 2b sensors to test the validity of UMS systems for validation. The UMS system has also been deployed as a virtual goniometer to measure bidirectional reflectance. These developments and some results will be discussed herein.
