Research on Harmonic Suppression and Reactive Power Accommodation of Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities

At present, more and more electric vehicle charging facilities are connected to the power grid. However, harmonic current is generated during the operation of electric vehicle charging facilities, which causes power quality problems in power grid. During the field measurement of the reactive power of charging facilities, it is found that the reactive power of some charging facilities is capacitive, and the reactive power compensation device is not put into use. In view of the above problems, a power quality improvement scheme based on passive filtering is proposed to suppress harmonics and absorb reactive power. The simulation model of charging pile and charging station is established in Simulink platform of Matlab, and the harmonic current characteristics are analyzed by simulation, which verifies the feasibility of power quality improvement scheme. This scheme provides a new idea for power quality optimization of charging facilities.
